Wednesday 5 September.
Early start collected more water, and we needed fuel, I thought this boat ran on fresh air plus we always seem to be pushing it somewhere.  I walked from Stone past where I used to work in Joules Brewery.  Most people that I spoke to in Stone had not really heard of the Joules Brewery. Come on it was only 40 years ago.

It was another sunny day and the shorts etc were dragged out of the drawers again.  We wanted to get to Great Haywood which is where we bought our first house and had our first child, Baby Rachel, who weighed in at 4lb. 1/4 ozs.  We found it difficult to moor at Great Hayward despite us getting there at about 2 p.m. we found a spot right next to the junction with the Staffs and Worcester Canal and at the end of the water point.  Not the best place to moor but needs must.

We used our National Trust Card to get into Shugborough Hall.  It is now owned by the NT and Staffordshire Council who have it as a county Museum  It was a really intersting place to visit.  The Servants Quarters in partucular were very good and educational.

After the visit we walked back into the village to look at our first house  What a disappointment. It was the worst kept in the road. John popped his head into the local pub where he frequented with our dog Zoe. Hhe gave it a miss.  It was on the market.

We had dinner on the boat and we were having a quiet doze when someone crached into us.  I am sorry to report that it was a woman cruiser.  The couple had a few words from John and we checked the boat and the bikes and all seemed fine. Well,we were parked in Spagheti Junction.
