Thursday 6 September
Shorts weather again today.  Up nice and early and saw the mist rising. It looked very beautiful.  Quickly through the locks before most people had stirred from their beds.  I decided that it was about time we had clean sheets and we had been assured when we purchased a Waterways ticket that their was a washing machine at out next stop.  What a loud of rubbish he told us.

We were soon in Rugeley not our favourite town. But hey when we cruised through it reminded us on Amsterdam.  Shopped at Morrison's for our weeks provisions and moved on quickly to         Junction.  It was a hive of activity and it transpired that a Brewery from Burton on Trent were having a Team Building day for their Management.  They were painting the lock gates and filling in holes in the canal side road.  All the locks were wet so they had to operate the locks for us.  Well I did say that they  were senior managers. They often did not put the paddles fully down so it meant we were going nowhere.

We moored for the night  at a spot just past the Water Sign and we were assured by an official that we would be fine.  I decided to clean the boat down again.  A very good job and the Senior Manager has splattered our boat with Black paint which I was able to get off.  However the tiny spots of white are still there.  John and I both reported this straight away.  There response was sorry.  But did not bother to come and have a look. I dare say that some proud boat owner will make a formal complaint (I hope) which will stop the silly b..........being let loose again.
